In 2021, Liana arrived. Seven days at the Inselspital in Bern, alone, new to everything, with a child who seemed seriously ill. In the end came a diagnosis: cow’s milk protein allergy.

After the birth, Olivia had an infection, plus contradictory advice from all sides. Breastfeeding didn’t work. So she expressed her milk, first with the ward’s pump, then permanently at home.

Expressed milk has to be warmed gently: at home in a water bath, on the go not at all. In between, there was nothing.

A bottle warmer with a battery. No water bath, no socket. Breast milk and formula gently brought to drinking temperature, wherever families happen to be.

We built it for ourselves first. Mike came from 15 years in accounting, not product development. That helped: we added nothing we wouldn’t have needed ourselves at three in the morning.

With our second child, LIINI grew beyond the night: on the go, at home, during the day.

We are the target group and we know real everyday life. That’s why our children test first, and why much of what looks good in a brochure but only gets in the way at home is left out.
