A changing bag you wear as a backpack spreads the weight across both shoulders and leaves your hands free: for the pushchair, the balance bike or your child's hand. The LIINI® diaper backpack gives you 29 litres of space, a separate wet compartment and insulated pockets for bottles. The outer fabric is rPET, a polyester made from recycled PET bottles.

On the outside are the separate wet compartment for wet and dirty clothes and, depending on the model, a zipped pocket for wipes. According to the manual, that gives you room for two baby bottles, the bottle warmer, ten nappies and other essentials. Some models also have a built-in USB-C port with its own pocket for a power bank.
Packing list for your changing bag
What you take depends on your baby's age and how long you'll be out. This list covers a normal day out:
- Nappies: better a few more than you think you'll need
- Wet wipes and tissues
- Changing mat for on the go
- Nappy cream
- Change of clothes: bodysuit, trousers, socks, and a whole outfit for toddlers
- Wet bag for dirty laundry, in case the wet compartment is full
- Bottles, plus pre-portioned formula powder or breast milk
- Bottle warmer: a battery-powered bottle warmer if you want to warm milk on the go without a plug socket
- Pacifier: a pacifier with a replaceable teat and a spare
- Burp cloth or muslin
- Snacks and water for you, and later for your child
- Once your baby starts solids: bib, spoon and purée, warmed on the go in the battery-powered baby food warmer
- Sun hat or woolly hat, depending on the weather
- A small toy or a picture book
- ID, your child's health insurance card, your phone
Pack by compartment: anything you need to grab quickly, such as wipes, goes in the outside pocket, and the pacifier goes in its own pocket. Bottles go in the insulated pockets and dirty laundry in the wet compartment. To find out how to prepare milk when you're out and about, read our guide Preparing a baby bottle on the go.
Diaper backpack or changing bag?
Classic changing bags hang over one shoulder or on the pushchair. A backpack carries differently:
| Backpack | Shoulder bag |
|---|
| Weight | spread across both shoulders | on one shoulder |
| Hands | free, even when you bend down | usually free, but the bag tends to slide forwards |
| Access | take it off or open it on the pushchair | quick to reach into |
| With a carrier | baby in front, backpack behind | strap and carrier easily get in each other's way |
If you get around a lot on foot, by bus and train or with a baby carrier, a backpack usually gives you more freedom of movement. A shoulder bag is handy if it mostly hangs on the pushchair and you often want to reach in quickly. Thanks to its metal hooks, you can hang the LIINI® backpack on the pushchair too.
Sustainable rPET
rPET is polyester made from recycled PET bottles. Every LIINI® rPET backpack contains 23 bottles of 500 ml. Compared with conventional polyester, rPET needs up to 60% less energy, and CO₂ emissions are 32% lower.
But a diaper backpack is also sustainable when you use it for a long time. The adjustable straps fit heights from 140 to 200 cm, so you can share it between you as parents. On top of that, you get a 24-month guarantee from receipt of order.
Models and colours
The LIINI® backpack comes in beige and olive rPET, in cream with handles and details in vegan leather, and in brown corduroy with a corduroy exterior and vegan leather. You'll also find models from the NAPPY by LIINI® line.
