Portable baby food warmer

With the LIINI® portable baby food warmer, your child can have a warm meal in the park, on the train or at their grandparents'. Fill it with a jar or your own home-cooked purée, switch it on and feed straight from the container. The battery does the job of the plug socket, the water bath and the microwave.

Warming baby food on the go: 4 ways compared

A portable baby food warmer is just one of four ways to bring baby food up to eating temperature. Which one suits you depends on how often you eat out and how independent you want to be.

Whichever method you choose, stir the food well before feeding and check the temperature, for example by putting a dab on the inside of your wrist. If you want to keep baby food warm, don't leave it lukewarm for hours, because germs multiply quickly in lukewarm food. It's safer to take the food with you chilled and only warm it shortly before the meal.

How the portable baby food warmer works

The LIINI® 2.0 PRO is a baby food warmer with battery and container in one. You don't need water or a plug socket.

• Fill: there's room for up to 350 g of food, shop-bought or home-cooked.
• Close: the lid is leakproof and the sealing ring is already fitted.
• Switch on: there's no temperature to set. The stainless steel (SUS316) heating plate warms with 50 W. For 190 g of food at room temperature, the instructions give roughly 5 to 8 minutes.
• Stir and feed: the instructions give approx. 37 to 45 °C as a comfortable eating temperature for babies and toddlers. Check the temperature and feed straight from the container.

It charges via USB-C. The fabric cable is included; you'll need a charging adapter separately. The warmer is rated IP66, so it is dust-tight and protected against powerful water jets, which means you can clean it under running water. According to the instructions, it is permitted in hand luggage on all flights. LIINI gives a 24-month guarantee from receipt of order; the battery and seals count as wearing parts.

Which jars and purées work?

Because you transfer the food into the container, the shape of the jar doesn't matter. LIINI® gives purées from HiPP, babylove (dm), Holle, Heynubee, Nestlé and Milupa as examples. So shop-bought jars work just as well as home-made purée. Vegetables, fruit or cereals: as your child grows, you can warm soft family food in it too.

Recipes for on the go

Home-cooked purée is easy to prepare ahead. Cook at home, cool the purée quickly and take it with you chilled, in a cool bag for example. It only goes into the warmer shortly before the meal. Purées that are easy to stir work well:

• Carrot and potato purée
• Pumpkin and millet purée
• Apple and pear purée with oats

A good combination: bottle, food and spoon
