On the road with baby under 5 months
The long-awaited annual vacation in Ibiza finally started. Last year our little one was still with us and now she is almost 5 months old. Back then, pregnant at 8 weeks, I was able to take the vacation because of my persistent nausea Enjoy only moderately. We are total summer people and love warm temperatures, the beach and the sea. However, we did not want to dare to take a long-haul flight with our little one. That is why it quickly became clear to us that we would be vacationing in Ibiza again this year to escape a little from everyday life. The flight from Basel Mulhouse to Ibiza only takes about an hour and 45 minutes. The stroller can be taken to the plane and handed in there in a compiled form. Then we took the little one on board in the stretcher. If you have the baby sitting on your lap, there is one special strap , which is attached to your own belt. This special belt is placed around the baby and thus ensures its safety. Otherwise, the baby can be in the Baby seat travel with you. In this case, however, a additional seat get booked.

For babies under 5 months you have to do not necessarily book a family hotel because at this age they cannot really play with other babies / children. For this reason, we have chosen a hotel this year that is centrally located so that you can stroll into the city in the evening. I used to have a lot of partying, explored the various bays by rental car or motorcycle, but this year it was a great one quiet and relaxed vacation . It is obvious that you can neither party with a baby nor take a spontaneous trip on a motorcycle. Nonetheless, you can a nice day at the pool or on the beach spend and recover from the stressful everyday life at home. Even though you may be less flexible with a baby/toddler, you enjoy the moment all the more intensely and suddenly notice things that you probably wouldn’t have noticed without a child. And best of all, you’re guaranteed to enjoy the breakfast buffet no longer oversleep! 😉
As an alternative to a hotel, you could alsorent a finca/vacationhome with friends or with your own parents and cater for yourself. This has the advantage that someone else can also look after the offspring and you can enjoy more togetherness.
Packing suitcases for the baby
Without a baby, we used to have a hand luggage suitcase for 10 days of vacation without any problems. With a baby you need a lot more luggage. Of course, this varies from baby to baby. here our packing list, which you as help can serve:

Sounds like a lot of material – in fact we only had 2 medium-sized cases included. We were also able to stow the UV protection tent and the parasol for the stroller in the suitcase without any problems. Diapers and wipes can be bought in a local supermarket and are usually even cheaper than in Switzerland.
It does in my opinion no point in any more clothes to take with you for the baby, because it won’t be enough anyway. Depending on the baby, it has to Clothes 2-3 times a day changed if you vomited some milk again, drooled over your body or something else went wrong. For this reason I recommend one Tube of detergent (e.g. Genie Lavabo Express Gel – for every hand wash) to take with you, so that the baby clothes in the hotelroom can be washed briefly. Alternatively, you can simply use the soap that the hotel provides. With normal soap, however, stains, for example from porridge, cannot be washed out well. The laundry can then be hung up to dry in almost every hotel / holiday apartment. In a vacation home / there is probably even a holiday home often a washing machine.
So that you don’t have to take too many baby clothes with you, the clothes you wear can be washed in the washbasin.
